The Aurora Borealis was pretty stunning last week - took these with my phone.

If your weather is good tomorrow night, you should see them again as well. NOAA (which does a whole bunch of science related things in the US) says it should be a G4 storm hitting Friday and Saturday this week. I'm certainly ready,

Today is only the second time I've ever (including a trip to Iceland in 2007 where we DIDN'T EVEN SEE THE SKY) seen the aurora borealis, and it's fair to say this one - in my own village - is a bit brighter than the last display:

It's gone a bit nuts with the six-CMEs-at-once thing. That's actually looking a little south of dead overhead at 54.6°N...

This was Shetland islands, UK - currently clouds over me, but seeing some good pics from other areas here.
