Even if you aren't a fan, there's a good chance you've seen a certain spiky-haired anime protagonist, Son Goku.

That character is from a well-known anime, Dragon Ball. It started all the way back in 1984 as a manga.

Dragon Ball is so well-known in fact, that it's an icon in popular culture, and numerous other animes have Dragon Ball references within.

On March 1st, 2024, its creator Akira Toriyama, passed away from subdural hematoma.

Rest in peace, father of anime.
