They couldn't since very few days before he signed at Renault and it was too expensive to buy him out. Blame RosbergHulk is a beast of a driver. If only Mercedes hired him instead of Bottas, I think he would have done way better.
Frankly, I'd be shocked if he didn't end up at Ferrari, if he leaves Red Bull. That's the one feather he absolutely wants in his cap.I know he's not a driver but it will be interesting to see where Adrian Newey goes.
