All the cars available as rental cars in World Circuits (Quick Race, Time Trial, Drift Trial and Custom Race only) and Split-Screen Race.

My dream update:

  • 5-8 cars per month (including race cars, hypercars, old classics, realistic concept cars)
  • new circuit (3-4 per year)
  • even more engine swaps including multiple swaps for a car
  • fix the roulette system
  • better payouts
  • 1 hour races with good payout

Okay, for more clarity and detail:

Around 10-15 cars per monthly update. (Time for Polyphony to give no quarter with updates.)
Occasional new tracks every now and then. (Not guaranteed every month.)
Usual engine swaps, race events and Scapes in between, and potentially more default livery variations to new and existing race cars.

But here are the features I would really like to see for one particular update:

  • All cars will be available as rental cars in World Circuits and Split-Screen Race.
However, they will only be available in Quick Race, Time Trial, Drift Trial and Custom Race under the World Circuits mode. You cannot use them in career events, and you will be prompted to return back to your currently-selected car from your garage once you attempt to enter a career mode event or exit World Circuits.

Same restrictions still apply, such as the following:
  1. Players can only select manufacturer-specific colors and livery variations for these particular cars.
  2. Tuning is only possible based on the car's default setup, with whatever parameters are available. Players can freely choose the tire compound, though.
  3. Daily Workout progress will not be earned while driving a rental car.
  • Used Cars and Legend Cars will receive a significant overhaul.
Used Cars will be renamed to "Retro Cars".

Both the Used and Legend dealers will only feature cars unique to them.

On both Legend Cars and Retro Cars, all cars are available on offer, similar to Brand Central, with options to buy them brand new and on demand (with the ability to select the color/livery variation), or to purchase a pre-determined selection of used variations for a lower resale value.
  • Invitations are removed from Brand Central entirely.

My Dream Update? It would definitely be labeled as 3.0.

Playing Experience :
  • "GT Mode" has been added to the Main Menu. Licence Tests A, B, IA, IB and S can be required as you progress in this mode.
  • "GT League" has been added to GT Mode.
  • "Endurance" has been added to GT Mode (features a B-Spec Mode).
  • "Hill Climb" has been added to GT Mode.
  • "Rallye" has been added to GT Mode.
  • Added "Onemake Races" at Brand Central.

Setup :
  • VGT are now located into their own section in the main menu, "Vision Gran Turismo", like in GT6. Sketches and videos can be viewed from there.
  • Fantasy Race Cars and Road Cars made by Polyphony Digital are now obtainable from GT Auto, using the "Race Modification" option on your actual car (allowed cars are tagged as #Upgradable). The price may vary depending on the car and the requested modification.
  • "Museum" as been added to the Main Menu, replacing museum sections at Brand Central. Brands like TVR, Pontiac or De Tomaso can now have their own Museum section. "Museum" features a brand new "Track Museum" section.

QOL / improvements :
  • All HUD items can be turned "on" or "off" individually from the pause screen or options.
  • Brand logos are now displayed by default when the HUD shows the cars, instead of flags.
  • The opponent list in race can be displayed as a banner.
  • The full opponent list, rankings and stats can be viewed when pausing the race.
  • Improved chase view options.
  • Improved Cockpit view options.
  • Car sound provenance can now be set independently from the selected view.
  • "Boost Off" in custom races now works as designed.
  • Liveries can now be chosen as you set a grid into Custom Race mode.
  • The player can now change its name and flag in Custom Race mode.
  • Many flags has been added for various countries in Custom Race mode.
  • A championship option has been added for Custom Race mode.
  • The race can be saved when entering a pit lane.
  • The championship progress can be saved between two races.

For me, an ideal update would consist of:
  • 6-10 cars, with the focus on filling in "missing" cars. For example, adding the other DTM cars used in the 2019 season to go with the Audi RS5 DTM.
  • ~10 new events, primarily longer in length (20 minutes and up).
  • 1 new circuit with full weather and time of day.
  • One new large feature coupled with a few small QoL features.
  • Expansion of Sophy system to allow for more tracks and be less restrictive.

[QoL]
  • Tuned cars are now available for all "Road Car" events. Also Korean cars will be available for all Asian events.
  • Add assist of visualize track limits.
  • Readjusted chase view (close range). This fix cameras that are too low like the Fiat 500 or VW Bus, or too far away like the Dodge Challenger R/T.
[Cars]
  • The return of an iconic model from past GTs. Examples: 1997 Dodge Copperhead, 1996 TVR Cerbera Speed 6, 1996 Mazda Demio, 1995 Nismo GT-R LM, 2001 Nissan GRAN TURISMO SKYLINE GT-R (PaceCar)
  • Add more Gr.4/Gr.3/Gr.B variants. This allows players to enjoy more race car versions of their favorite cars.
  • Add "fantasy" stock cars for each brand based on the 2024 NASCAR season for Chevy/Ford/Toyota (*this is to avoid NASCAR licensing issues). And for Dodge, which does not currently compete in NASCAR, add a fictional Charger stock car based on the Charger Hellcat.
[Customization]
  • Add numerous aftermarket and fantasy rims. Especially need more rally/classic racing style rims.
  • Add appropriate engine swaps to many underpowered classics such as the Toyota Sports 800, Autobianchi A112, and many others.
  • Add these parts to cars where front and rear spoiler options are not available. And add a duck-tail style custom wing for a for classic cars.
  • Weight Reduction Stage 4/5/6 upgrades now available on all cars.
  • Tire width upgrade.
[Tracks]
[Livery Editor]
  • Add two filters to search: "Search by title" and "Search by tag".
  • Add the feature to search for non-shared private decals. This will make it easier for players who have uploaded a large number of decals to access the ones they need.
  • For cars whose "Body 2" includes areas other than the hood, it is now possible to select the same camera for Body 2 as for Body 1.
  • Show decal coordinates.
  • Changed so that carbon color can be used in some parts. This makes it easier to create combinations like a metallic body and carbon hood.
[Others]
  • The AI will be more aware of the player's car and will take actions to avoid contact with the player. In other words, there will no longer be a "Shinigami" AI that tries to hit a player's car against a wall.
Simple summary: Let's wait for GT8:lol:

Approximately 40% of all posts in this thread have been removed or edited to fit the example you were all given, because some of you just can't keep your content wishlists in your pants even though we gave you a thread in which to wave them about.

We have a car and track wishlist thread. It is here:

If you're selecting specific cars and tracks, DO IT IN THE CAR AND TRACK WISHLIST THREAD, not this one.

Here is the example you were given:

Here’s what I think a good update should entail:
  • 3-5 new cars (Max. 1-2 returning)
  • 1 new track (Or a remake of a classic GT track, e.g. High Speed Ring)
  • At least three new events, one of which has a completion reward of 100,000cr or more
  • One new feature
And this is the example that it took inspiration from.
AR12
What's your perfect FH5 Update?
1. Theme
2. Festival Playlist Cars
3. Stadium Makeover
4. Small Feature
5. Car Pack
See how no specific content is named (save one as a reference)? This is what you need to do in this thread. Here, I'll do one:

Typical GT7 Update

  • Three new cars
  • No new tracks
  • Three new races
  • One new Extra Menu Book
  • Five new engine swaps
  • One new Scapes set/curation

My Ideal GT7 Update
  • Four new cars (minimum one race car, one road car), with any Vision GT car being additive
  • One new track layout (eg Le Mans/Bugatti, Suzuka/West, Tsukuba/MotoGP) or track location (eg Motegi, Sugo) - every third update
  • New Circuit Experiences both with any new circuit content and filling in existing track variations without a CE (eg Catalunya/RX, Nurburgring/Sprint, Daytona/Tri-Oval)
  • Six+ new races, at least three of which are a new event (eg Premium Sports Lounge) and associated Cafe Menu, and at least one of which offers 1m/hr earning potential; each new car should be eligible for at least one of the new races.
  • One new Extra Menu Book
  • Ten new engine swaps (currently only one quarter of cars have a swap after two years, although that includes Gr.3/Gr.2/Gr.1/VGT cars which probably shouldn't be swapped), including 2-3 new swaps for cars that already have one.
  • One new Scapes set/curation (preferably in Yorkshire  )
  • GT Sophy event support for one additional circuit that does not currently support it
  • One new set of Missions - every third update, offset with new tracks to smooth out the content peaks and troughs
  • One unique QOL change/feature per update, including:
    • Enhanced PSVR2 support (HUD)
    • Invitation system change (either the things we talk about in the article or a new Five-Star (Invitation) Ticket)
    • Raise Collector Level cap to 100
    • New unique paints and wheel options
    • Allow application of carbon fibre (and a new forged carbon option) to individual body areas rather than the whole car
    • Negative mask option in Livery Editor (allowing shapes to be cut out rather than only added)
    • Daily Marathon completion credit multiplier bonus (completing two successive DMs increases game-wide credit multiplier to 1.2x, three is 1.4x, up to a maximum 2.0x for five successive logins; missing a day decreases the bonus by two steps)
    • Unlock all cars for use in Arcade Mode/Scapes/Livery Editor without purchase
    • Introduction of separate "championships" section, including existing championships and adding new events every two or three updates
  • Various other issues have been addressed

My dream update would be like this:
  1. Five to seven new cars per update (at least one returning car and at least one racing car, can be both).
  2. At least one new track per update. Returning ones from say GT4 are fine.
  3. One new scapes location per update.
  4. Lots and lots of new events in World Circuits per update, at least one or two being endurance races with big payout.
Especially cars and events are very important for Gran Turismo 7, as there are very few events that give big money, and racing cars are generally very few in numbers, especially in Group 2.

Inspired by AR12’s latest video where he talked about his dream update for Forza Horizon 5 (), I wanted to know: What would you guys choose for your dream GT7 update?
Here’s what I think a good update should entail:
  • 3-5 new cars (Max. 1-2 returning)
  • 1 new track (Or a remake of a classic GT track, e.g. High Speed Ring)
  • At least three new events, one of which has a completion reward of 100,000cr or more
  • One new feature
I’m excited to see what you guys think would make the perfect GT7 update

Players choose starting position. Players choose PP limits. Players choose tyre. Players choose AI even if there's only two types of AI. Players choose to start from standstill.

If its monthly updates:

3 cars; 2 normal, 1 race car/vgt
1 track every 4 months

A QOL component
BoP adjustments

Quarterly review and adjustment of Wheel and Controller SDK’s.

The shutterbug and engine swap release schedule seems pretty ok. Probably just keep with that cadence.
