THE BLAZER IN BLUE

Prologue:

10 Years Prior

John Robinson, My dad, drives his beloved 1971 Plymouth 'Cuda 440 Six Pack. It brought back lots of memories.

John: C'mon old girl. Lets go!

He flies through the turn.

In the background are The Hills Of Mapleview. Now with recently built wind turbines.

He speeds up, hitting 115 MPH!

All of a sudden 3 gun shots are heard.

John: What the hell!

The car slides out of control.

*CRASH*

He ends up off the road. John escapes before the car catches fire. A man in a suit walks down with a gun in hand.

Man: Where is it!?

John: Where is what?

Man: The pendants!

John: I don't have them!

Man: Liar!

John: Fine your right.

He pulls out 3 pendants.

John: The Blazer, The Yeti, And The Rebel are all I have.

Man: Now give me them.

John: Go fetch.

John throws them into a near by river.

Man: You b*****d!

He aims.

*BANG*

Part 1: Beginnings

I walk into my small little work shop. My pride and joy, a Dodge Neon SRT 4, sits in the centre. There also lies a Dodge Stealth and a more noticeable 71' 'Cuda with a lot of damage and burns. I was lucky it came out that good. I hope one day I can restore it but it would be hard. Anyway time to get my SRT 4 out.

This car was my V-TEC killer. I like Hondas and all but when your obsessed with them, its like you ignore any other make.

I got this car cheap. $2500 to be exact. I fixed it up and made it what it is today. And honestly I love it.

This road is known as the legendary Mapleview Road 99. Notorious for street racing and car accidents. This includes my dad's. I still miss him.

The only thing I would do to change this car was paint. I hate that the car owners of today have no pride in what they own. Its always black or silver or grey. I want to paint this thing blue and add some more mods to the list that it has.

I was the king of this road. No one could beat me in the street races. I started here before I even had my drivers license.

After my dad died my mom had no interest in me racing. This was all I had. All my mom wanted was the inheritance to herself. My brother and sister got lucky and got karting down before my dad died.

I decided to leave the street racing scene. I don't want to lose my license.

I now track race around circuits in Ontario and sometimes as far as South Carolina. It's good to race without the law on your heels.

*Ringtone goes off*

Well I guess I can answer.

Blake: Hello?

Dennis: My Camaro is ready

Blake: Really?

Dennis: Meet me at the Grand Valley Speedway.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Camaro resembles one of the concepts Chevrolet made in the late 80's. Dennis's dad worked at the Chevrolet plant in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada after they moved from Texas. Dennis still is a proud American though.

Dennis: What do you think?

Blake: If I could go back tot he 1980s I would buy this car. I like it better than your 90's Camaro.

Dennis: I am entering a session this afternoon on the track.

Blake: Can I tag along?

Dennis: Sure.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We get to start the timed lap.

Dennis loves American Muscle cars and I have to admit, I do too.

The first curve is nice and long. Good at the high speeds Dennis is used to from oval racing.

The next resembles a short track turn. The Camaro takes the corner very well.

Dennis takes the shortest route through the S bends.

Dennis floors it on the straight. He has always been a speed demon.

He gets a little bit of understeer in the corner by entering to quickly.

He takes the next curve with ease.

He takes the next S-bend with speed.

This track Dennis had to master over time. His oval racing experience didn't show him how to take a road course.

Dennis: How am I doing Canuck?

Blake: Good! Keep focused though.

He goes through one of the tunnels with haste.

And the same with the next one.

And the most stunning part of the track. A view of the valley never got old.

The next part of the tunnel was less claustrophobic. You can see yet another great view outside it.

Blake: Keep going!

Dennis spins the tires and starts to slide. He recovers quickly.

Blake: At least dirt racing taught you something about sliding a car.

Dennis: Maybe I'm a natural drifter.

Blake: I Doubt it.

The next part of the S he takes with ease.

He speeds down the straight.

Blake: Pick it up!

He takes the final bend and puts the pedal to the medal. He finishes with a lap time of 2:18.984

Blake: Took you long enough.

Dennis: Shut up.

He parks in the garage.

Blake: That was a pretty good lap.

Dennis: Thanks. By the way, whats your next event?

Blake: Indianapolis. I have a race for $10,000 American.

Dennis: I'll work on your Dodge Ram for the Texas Truck Rally. I'll see you in Indy on race day.

Blake: if this racing gig is going to work we need to get better.

Dennis: It will get better.

Blake: I'll see you state side.

END OF PART 1

Notes:

- Blake Robinson is the character i use for a GTA Online RP. Wether the story will connect to that is still undecided on my part.

- I chose the 71 'Cuda as John Robinson's car because my dad has a 71 Barracuda in our barn. I'll see about posting a picture.

- Almost forgot. I put Grand Valley Speedway in Canada because there is a town near by called Grand Valley. No racing there though :(

I love that Camaro. I'd pay PD a bullion to make that, the 70s model (prominent in GRiD 2) and the current Z28 premium models.

And great start.

Part 2: Social Skills, I Lack Them

My SRT 4 is ready to race. Many challengers in cars of all kinds showed up, but this Lotus Elise on track is the car to beat.

It takes the first turn with ease due to its light weight and agility.

And follows through the S.

The Elise was very light and small. Unlike the American Muscle cars that come here to race.

It continues to dominate the track with every corner it takes.

The Lotus only lacked on the straights. But the lack is slight.

The car starts to slide in the corner. Although a very quick recovery it may cost time.

The car goes through yet another S.

The Lotus again executes the corner well.

The straight is executed well, but the car isn't great at it.

The driver makes up time on the corner.

And again on the S bend.

The car accelerates further.

It's fast on the longer straights and curves, but not the fastest.

The car enters the final turn.

The car passes the finish. The timer reads 1:46.262.

Dennis: Think you can do it?

Blake: Only one way to find out.

Here we go!

This thing handles with ease!

I'm off to a good start, but I can't let my guard down.

This thing is the son of every Challenger, Charger, And 'Cuda!

Mind that it is smaller, lighter, and slower.

I gotta keep going!

And... Accelerate!

I'm better on the straight than that Lotus, but I have to keep up with it's time in the corner.

Woah! I might be getting good at this track stuff.

But these S bends are getting old.

Too close! Too close! I can't get too far off the pavement.

Time for the 298 HP engine to get me to the end.

One... Last... PUSH!

Come on! Come on!

Did I do it?

Dennis: 1:45.397! You did it! And by a good margin at that!

I WON! I didn't think I could do it but I did!

Blake stops in the pits. A woman in a Lotus race suit comes up behind me.

Amy: Good race there.

She is actually pretty good looking. Bah, I stand no chance anyway.

Blake: Thanks, you were driving that Elise I assume?

Amy: Of course. I didn't think that SRT 4 could do that well.

Blake: It is what it is.

Why can't i think of something better to say?

Amy: Anyway, I goto go. Bye.

Blake: See ya.

Dennis joins him.

Dennis: You are one, stupid mother *****r.

Blake: How?

Dennis: That chick was HOT and can drive. And you screwed it up.

Blake: No I didn't. I'm just… showing a mutual respect.

Dennis: SCREW UP! S.C.R.E.W U.P

Blake: SHUT UP DENNIS! You know I lack social skill.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Amy meets up with Vincenzo Ricardi. A rich racer with a lot of talent who also happens to be her boyfriend. He jumps into his Enzo Ferrari.

Amy: What are you doing Vincenzo?

Vincenzo: I'm testing my Enzo again.

He leaves the pits.

He comes off turn 4 and accelerates to 220 MPH!

The timer starts as he passes the world famous bricks.

Even though it is a Ferrari, Vincenzo has to slow down a lot in the corner.

Another speed up on the small straight.

And another slow down in the corner.

This Ferrari is a worthy tribute to the company's founder. Vincenzo has yet put a ton of money into making it faster.

He takes the corner perfectly this time.

Speeds up.

Comes around the last turn.

He passes the finish! A 50.324! A new personal best for Vincenzo. He goes back to talk to Amy.

Vincenzo: How did you like that!

Amy: It was good.

Vincenzo: So, Did you like the Lexus LFA I gave you?

Amy: Uh, Yeah. It was nice.

Vincenzo: Anyway, I'll catch you later.

Amy: Ok, see you later.

Vincenzo leaves.

Amy: Why do you have to be so arrogant?

Part 3: Northerner And Southerner

Dennis and Blake enter a race in Texas. They drove Blake's Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi Quad Cab. Blake was driving for the final leg.

Dennis: Lets get it together Canuck. Were almost there.

Blake: Relax, We still have a little bit left.

Dennis: I remember the time you won this truck in that race.

Blake: Well I changed it for the better. Lightened it up so it could go even faster. Before it was heavy as hell, the driver had no thought that decreasing weight = increasing speed. And thanks to that lowered suspension, we have a good truck for a rally. Not some mud bog for hick fest.

The lightened truck takes the corner with ease.

Blake: There was a reason I didn't like that crowd, and it was because they had no respect for other cars.

Dennis: Than why didn't you hang out with the Ricers?

Blake: They were dicks too. I pretty much hated everyone in both "clans". With the exception of people like you.

Dennis: Alright stay focused. They road will start to curve a lot when were near the finish.

Blake takes the corner very well, Almost like Vettel and his F1 car. Just not nearly as rich and lucky.

Dennis: This is the last long straight I believe.

Blake: Yup, here comes the deadly part

Blake: It sure is a nice looking place though.

The truck handles like a dream. I didn't think Dennis would get the suspension that good.

Dennis: FlOOR IT

Announcer: The Dodge wins the Texas Point To Point Rally! The Canadian-American team has done it!

Dennis: We did it. You couldn't have done it with out me.

Blake: Ha, wanna bet?

We head to victory lane. After some celebrating, Dennis talks to the media. I swear he could get his own talk show or something.

Dennis: It was tough but I kept my cool.

Blake: Kept your cool? You were screaming over that small jump.

Dennis: What he means to say is that I had fun…

Blake: Sure.

Reporter: So how does it feel to bring back an American Car Company to victory lane Blake?

Blake: Great. I always was fond of the American Muscle cars when I was a young. While everyone wanted to mess with there Toyotas, Hondas, and Nissans, I would goto car shows and look at the Chevys, Fords, And Dodges.

Dennis: He maybe Canadian, But he still loves American cars.

The reporter leaves.

Blake: So now what?

Dennis: I know But I'm going back to AltArms for a while.

Blake: I don't know. I'll figure something out.

Dennis: I'll see you Blake.

Blake: Try not to die.

Dennis: That's the plan.

Dennis leaves. Blake walks off to his Dodge Neon and drives off.

----
Amy and Alex sit in the Collins Motorports HQ. Collins Motorsports is a top of the line race team from the UK. And of course Amy was the daughter of Alex.

Amy: So where are we racing now?

Alex: Daytona. But we won't be racing there for a little bit. So feel free to do whatever you want when were there.

----
AltArms HQ

A man named Fernando Ricardi writes on a piece of paper.

The time is coming. Were testing the 3 pendants. Hopefully we can find out what makes them fast and maybe even, take it.

END OF PART 3
==========
Notes:

This is my dads 1971 Plymouth Barracuda. Consider it the less sporty version of the 'Cuda.

And 2 other cars you may be familiar with...

Triumph Spitfire 1500

Honda S600?

Made a slight edit to the ending of part 3. Instead of 1 pendant missing there is just 3, all are already found.

This fic looks like a nice enjoyable read, and the first 3 chapters have been promising. :) These pendants have me interested.

And also, those are some nice cars in that barn. 👍

Part 4: Highway To Hell

Toronto, Ontario

Alex: So what are you doing now?

Amy: I'm in Toronto. I haven't been here in a while so i thought I would visit.

Alex: Alright just don't forget we have work to do soon. That's a ways from Florida.

Amy: Not by plane.

Alex: Alright. Don't get yourself killed.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

An SRT 4 stops on the exit of the 401, Which is closed. A group of cars is preparing a street race.

Hell one more couldn't hurt.

Blake: Mind if I join you?

They look and start to laugh.

Ponitac Le Mans GTO Driver: Sure if you can keep up.

A woman walks out of the group.

Amy: Oh, I know you now. The voice sounded familiar.

Her? Really?

Blake: I probably should have introduced my self earlier, Blake Robinson.

Amy: Amy Collins.

We shake hands.

Blake: Wait, THE Amy Collins, Like from…

She hushes me.

Amy: Shhh. Don't tell them.

Blake: Oh, Ok.

350z Racer: Let's get this done! We don't have long until construction crews come in. The bets are placed. But it's like it's going to anyone except me.

Amy: Here take this. It's a communication device that can be hooked up to your car.

Blake: Alright.

Amy: Ok, I'll see you on the road.

I get in my car. We line up.

Blake puts the pedal to the metal.

He takes the Mazda with ease.

That GTO has too low of a top speed. What an idiot.

Blake also makes quick work of a Skyline.

Amy is starting to struggle in her bone stock Evora.

Amy: Tight turn ahead. Watch out if your going to pass.

A white Skyline makes a pass on a weird looking Isuzu.

But Blake makes a daring move in between the pair.

Blake: What the hell kind of car is that?

Amy: Some Isuzu concept. I don't know why it's here.

More passing room now.

Ah, the ring leader isn't as good as he thinks he is.

Blake puts drafting to work, A skill he learned lots about from Dennis.

Blake: Shake and Bake!

But instead...

He starts to lose ground.

Blake: S**t!

Amy: I'm coming in behind you Blake!

Amy makes a pass on Blake and challenges the 350z.

Blake: I'll follow you through. We'll be faster that way.

The 350z speeds ahead of them, but Blake and Amy now challenge another competitor.

Amy: This car is worth twice as much as yours! Why do you have to be pushing!

Blake: Relax, I'm not hurting it. I'm not even touching it.

An alarm goes off in Blake's car.

*Warning! Overheat!*

Blake: Change of plans. I'm gonna pass you but get ready to get right behind me.

Blake makes a charge and Amy falls back.

Blake: You have to follow my line as precisely as you can!

Amy: I'm trying!

Amy follows the draft.

Blake: There you go. Now you have the hang of it.

Blake: I'm gonna draft the Infiniti. Make a charge when Im out of your way.

Amy's not the only one who charges. 2 other Nissans do as well.

Blake: Follow their slipstreams!

Blake gets out of the pack.

Amy: I' can't get around this Infiniti!

Blake: Just do the best you can. I'm heading off.

Blake is now a lone wolf.

Well I guess I'm used to being alone anyway.

But it doesn't last long. Blake enters the tunnel to find his lost pray, The 350z. along with some other Japanese cars.

Blake: Damn, there is way to many imports!

Blake follows the slipstream of the cars ahead as they go 3-wide.

Blake: Your mine Mr 350z!

Blake follows the draft of the 350z. This causes the pair to go faster than the RX-7 and GTR.

350z Driver: ****! An SRT4? Bring it!

*BUMP*

Blake:
Ha, oops.

350z Driver: You won't win now!

The Nissan brakes slightly and bumps Blake back. He taps the guardrail.

Blake: So were playing that game!? Bring it!

Blake: Your on the highway to hell now!

Blake makes a last second pass.

350z Driver: NO!

Blake takes the win!

Amy: How did you pull that off?

Blake: Practice and Skill.

They slow down and re group.

350z Driver: Well looks like you do know how to race. I guess this prize money is yours.

He hands Blake $20,000.

Blake: Thats a damn big purse.

350z Driver: Next time it won't be yours.

Blake walks back to his car. Amy runs up to him.

Amy: Wait!

Blake turns around.

Amy: How did you do that?

Blake: Do what?

Amy: The race! That Nissan should have had you, it has more power, doesn't it?

Blake: Probably, I just use what I learned.

Amy: And what would that be?

Blake: That was drafting. Use it on an oval if you ever race there.

Amy: Oh, And if anyone just so happens to ask if Pro Racer Amy Collins was here, She wasn't.

Blake: What about that weird communicator thing?

Amy: Consider it a gift.

Blake: Alright. i guess I'll uh… See ya.

Amy: Later.

Damn it. Why didn't I say something better. She seems oddly familiar. Not from Indianapolis, but way before that.

END OF PART 4

Notes

-The SRT 4 will hopefully get a nice little paint job.

-I don't know when I'll be getting GT6, but hopefully the week it's released. I might take a small break to get the cars I need and have some fun with it.

Part 5: Rivalries

Location: Unknown
Time: Unknown

Fernando: So Commander E, are you in?

Commander E: Of course I'm in. It's been 10 years, we should finish this now.

Fernando: It seems that The Blazer has got back into the street racing scene.

Fernando puts a video of a race on the screen, showing Blake's racing skill on the highway and some older shots of his racing elsewhere.

Fernando: Some how, he pulled of a win in a smaller, less powerful car on the 401 in Toronto.

Than records of Blake's SRT4 upgrades compared to the other cars upgrades.

Commander E: So I guess it would be stupid to capture him through a race?

Fernando: Depends what car you use. It needs to be something that looks fair, but it needs to be faster than him with a skilled driver behind the wheel.

Commander E: Alright, I have the perfect people for the job.

----
A Few Days Later

Location: Daytona
Time: Noon

Announcer: 2 laps to go! Amy has the lead but Vincenzo is closing the gap!

Amy Collins in the McLaren F1 leads the race with Vincenzo Ricardi right on her tail. There fathers watch in the pits.

Fernando: I can guarantee that my son will have this one.

Alex: I don't know, Amy's had some... practice for say.

Fernando: Practice? Oh my Alex, we have all practiced.

Amy's McLaren starts driving in the grass but quickly recovers.

Fernando: Some more than others.

Alex: Amy has found skill in places Vincenzo would refuse to look.

Vincenzo takes the inside and pushes Amy out, attempting a pass.

Vincenzo than finishes the pass.

Fernando: Vincenzo is like me, a Master of All Trades, Amy tries but isn't at the same level as Vincenzo.

Amy sneaks right in behind Vincenzo

Amy: Use the draft an old friend told me, and use it I will.

Amy takes the inside using a slingshot manoeuvre.

Vincenzo: What!? How!?

Alex gets a grin on his face.

Alex: What were you saying Fernando?

Fernando: Relax Alex, Vincenzo too knows how to use the draft.

The pair exit the turn at tremendous speed.

Vincenzo follows her line.

Fernando: It seems that Amy is running a very low line, that might be a bad idea. Here in Daytona sometimes the higher line is faster.

At that moment Vincenzo uses the draft to attempt a pass on the top of the track.

Vincenzo than rubs against the rear of the F1. Giving multiple taps.

Amy: What the hell? Dad! Can you see how my right rear is?

Alex: Uh, it seems fine for now, your going to have to push no matter what condition that tire is.

Alex looks to Fernando

Alex: Have you forgotten that they are dating and are trying to work together or is it a Ricardi thing to race dirty and holding grudges.

Fernando: There is an old saying here in America, Rubbin's Racin'.

Vincenzo takes the lead heading into the chicane.

But Amy grips on her lead, keeping it together.

Vincenzo: I got you now.

Vincenzo's Pagani swoops to the inside.

Fernando: That a boy!

Alex: Don't worry Amy, your still in this.

Amy: I know. I'm not letting him get away with it.

Vincenzo: You will not win this race!

Announcer: Amy Collins takes the white flag! One lap to go!

Alex: Come on! You got this, just keep cool.

Announcer: There is a slow car there, let's see if they try to use it's slipstream.

Amy: I'll follow the Mercedes and hope the slipstream will give me a boost against Vincenzo. He will be to greedy to follow the same line as me.

Vincenzo cuts off Amy and puts her into the grass.

Vincenzo: I will not let you beat me!

Amy: Let me go! I thought this was some friendly competition not a demolition derby!

Vincenzo: You are my sidekick, I am the hero.

Amy: I am sick of you beating me every time. Now it's my turn!

Fernando: Alright, give it your all! Don't let a Collins beat a Ricardi!

Amy runs high and Vincenzo follows suit.

Amy: I can't shake him! The draft is too strong!

Announcer: Vincenzo tries to make a move!

Announcer: He does it but will it hold?

Amy does a very late break, causing her to take the lead.

Alex: Keep going!

Announcer: Amy hits the grass! Good recovery on her part.

Vincenzo: You are stressing. That means it is only a matter of time until you lose it.

Fernando: Watch your engine temperature, it's getting a little hot.

Vincenzo takes this into mind using only a part of the slipstream. He than quickly results to the full slipstream.

Amy: No! This is my time to shine!

Announcer: Vincenzo takes the bottom, trying to perform a slingshot manoeuvre!

Announcer: It's...

Vincenzo will take the win at Daytona!

Amy: Damn it!

Alex: You almost had it.

Amy: Why do I keep losing to him? It's like I'm meant to lose to him all the time.

----------------------------
Location: Mapleview Cafe
Time: 9:00 AM

Blake sits down at a local cafe. He is drinking a large coffee and looks very tired. A familiar voice is heard.

There is only one man that could be that happy in the morning.

Greg: Well, well, well. Someone lost there morning happiness.

Blake: Greg? What are you doing here?

Greg: It's Mapleview, I live here.

Blake: Ha, I guess. Your staying home for the summer break?

Greg sits down in front of Blake.

Greg: Yeah. I figured I would give racing another shot. And it appears you have too.

Blake: Wait, what?

Greg: You haven't seen the video?

Blake: What video?

Greg: In Toronto, a guy in a silver SRT4 beat the crap out of every car in a race on the 401 Highway while it was shut down. And someone found the stats of each car. Turns out yours had the lowest amount of HP.

Blake: I hate to tell you this, but it wasn't me.

Greg: There is only one man I know of that could pull of a win like that.

Blake: Fine, it was me. I seen a group of racers trying to get a race together and I joined them.

Greg: So much for that circuit racing plan.

Blake: I'm still trying to circuit race. What are you doing as far as jobs?

Greg: Well, I'm on an apprenticeship for carpentry and house building, but I got some time off. How's the Automotive Engineering coming along?

Blake: It's a lot harder than i thought, but i'm making it through.

Greg: Your still sticking to the automotive scene. Good to see that.

Blake: You can't take it out of me!

Greg: We should get the old gang back together sometime.

Blake: You really think they would do that? Ryuu is in Japan, Dennis is off to god knows where in some Private Military Corporation…

Greg: And Alice?

Blake sits silent for a minute.

Greg: Well if that's a little too…

Blake: No, it's fine. We'll figure it out later. But it would be a fun idea. Show the rookies how it's done.

Greg: Blake, they're won't be that many people that we haven't seen before. it's only been about a year.

Blake: There will be a few, remember how many of us wanted to race right away as soon as we got our licenses.

Greg: I guess. Anyway, I'll see you around.

Blake: See ya.

Greg walks out of the coffee shop.

I should probably get to racing too, I need some sort of income if I'm gonna take another year of university. I also should give old grandpa a visit.

------------------
Location: Daytona Beach
Time: 7:00 PM

Amy and Vincenzo walk on the beach.

Vincenzo: And that is why Italy produces the best cars around.

Amy: Yeah.

Vincenzo: Is something wrong? You've seem down all day.

Amy: I don't know, It's just my racing. I haven't been as good as I hoped to be.

Vincenzo: It's fine, it will just take time. people like me get greatness easily, and well, achieve it a lot. You will just take time to find it. My greatness is superior to most racers so don't aim for that.

Amy just stays silent.

Vincenzo: What?

Amy: Nothing, I got to do something.

Amy runs to her LFA.

Vincenzo: But...

Amy than quickly drives away.

Amy: There is only one person I know who can help me beat him. I don't want be a sidekick to him, I want to be my own being, my own racer. Time to head up north.

END OF PART 5
==========
Notes

-Sorry for taking so long on this part, I'll try being more frequent.

-As far as the SRT4's paint job, it will wait until GT6

-I'm still messing with some new layouts as far as the writing is concerned

Last edited:
I've been actually thinking of writing a fanfic for GT6. Just don't know about keeping the original plot I had planned for this. If I try my hand at another story you could expect lots of familiar faces from this one, but thats only if I decide to try again, and I will not gurantee I will.
