do you guys have any recommendations for good CSP graphic settings?
Photos don’t tell you the complete story, I can publish monitor shots that looks great but in my VR-HS it’s acting horrible. I did test a dozen pre-settings from guys that have found the ideal settings, but I can tell you these are only a nice base to go further in you own try&error. Because it all depends on your specific hardware, view mode (VR/triple/monitor 1080–4k), Windows OS and personal preferences. For me as an VR user, it’s all about reducing shimmer at a straight 90FPS.

You could check actual YT videos (max 1y old) on adjustments. Be aware if only have an low end laptop, while the YT does have an super duper PC, it could be a waste of time as an high end PC, is less sensitive to wrong and conflicting settings, while even for an mid rang this could be a disaster. That’s why I think a YT with a lower spec system is more interesting to watch. Most important is to know the effect from CM settings on the game.
But here also, sorry to write this down, only a great base to go further on your own.

Also and is my personal experience, If you like me have a VR Headset, I would even avoid the all sample settings for a monitor.

Salzburgring update

Fixed floating groove in Salzburgring.
Feel free to use it.
Overwrites existing files. (ext_config.ini and groove.ini)

Download (mediafire)

If you have not installed it, there are links to Track and skins.
----------------------------------------------

Thank you.

To add the CSP config;

Copy bmw_m3_e30.ini in assettocorsa\extension\config\cars\loaded.
Rename it to ext_config.ini.
Create an extension folder in alpina_b6_35s.
Put ext_config.ini in it.
Thank you @shi, for this nice groove fix. 👍

This reminded me that I had done some fixes on other stuff too, but never finished.
So, now I took my old stuff and did a very quick finish of what I did before.
I hope, I didn´t overseen anything. :)

  • added a new vao-patch
  • fixed jagged powerlines
  • fixed missing double-sided crowd, tents, treewalls etc.
  • darkened and fixed trees and treewalls shaders
  • less reflective tires
  • less tiling of the grass
  • patchier grass, with footpaths without grass
  • added Pure landscape
  • fixed horizon shaders
  • ...
Combined all former mentioned links together with latest groove fix from @shi.
Thx, all involved helping hands. :)

Credits goes for them all. :cheers:

Hope you enjoy it.
Maybe it got too dark?
I´m still testing LCS and its changes/implications.

Sorry, updated the grass_fx config. Just redownload it, if downloaded before, and you should get this grass:

"Cannot have 0 cars in race.ini" only appears if you did not install it correctly. I recommend you first install the track and then put the contents of pyyer´s extension folder into it. Do it without CM!
That's exactly how I did it. Track first, then the extension, manually WITHOUT CM!

Well in my case it´s the opposite :D The pics i uploaded are just few i had send to a friend via whattsapp. So they was first screenshoted and saved in paint, than send via whattsapp to my buddy and downloaded again to upload them again.... :odd:

In "real" on my screen the picture quality is much better. 🤩
Btw. ultrawide single screen

IT'S ACTUALLY HAPPENING. DRIVECLUB MODELS IN ASSETTO CORSA!!!!!!!
All thanks to the amazing work put in by Xenn for looking into how to extract these assets, you can expect more Driveclub content soon™...

Huge thanks also has to go to TheAdmiester for taking the time to create the fantastic engine audio, visit his YouTube page to hear more of his work.

As usual the car is unencrypted and you're free to use how you like. I just ask if you do modify and repost, that you please credit all the people involved.

For the full credits and list of known issues check the car's ui_car.json file, if you find any bugs or if CSP breaks something in the future, don't be scared to get in touch to let me know.
Final thing, it is strongly recommended you disable the "Add extra reverb" option found in Content Manager > Settings > General Patch Settings > Audio

Enjoy :)

Great as driving these in extern view mode and showroom display, for VR drivers what about in-cockpit mode.
Yezhrod's 499P has floating text on the steering wheel display. not suitable for VR. The rest of the car seems solid, though.
"Cannot have 0 cars in race.ini" only appears if you did not install it correctly. I recommend you first install the track and then put the contents of pyyer´s extension folder into it. Do it without CM!
Or if you install the extension on the wrong track... Make sure you have the correct version of the track it's meant for.

Thanks! Salzburgring was one of my favourites back when I was playing Raceroom. Will definately make a comeback there now, with the Volvo 240 Turbo, along with some its nice 80's friends. :)

Oh man THANK YOU.
There are so many amazing cars in DriveClub.

thanks to all that patreon money i'm receiving I decided to buy a steam deck so that I finally have something that can run Assetto Corsa without anti aliasing being on -14! I'll finally see what you guys see when playing my mods

meaning the mods will also have a quality upgrade soon.

(also no i don't have a patreon)

Thanks! But for some reason GrassFX isn't working for me on this track, unless I disable your ext_config.ini. Then it works because it's using salzburgring.ini from ..\extension\config\tracks\loaded

I don't think this is what it should look like?

Turn ON Extra FX, enable TAA, here disable EXTRA_SHARPEN_PASS=0 and enable FidelityFx under Grapphic adjustments (look below)
SSLR ON (if too heavy for your GPU, tun on exterior only), HBAO
GrassFX- Very high
ParticlesFX - turn ON Sparks, Smoke, Marbles, Pieces
Graphics Adjustments - LODS - increase CARS, TRACKS DISTANCE MULT
Graphics Adjustments - Antialiasing - FFXCAS_PASS=1 ; Use FidelityFX CAS by AMD for extra sharpness
Smart Mirror - Real Mirrors - if enabled set RENDER_PER_FRAME=1 (this should save you maaaaany FPS and you do not notice the difference in visualas at all. Mirrors just refresh less frequently, which i can´t realize with my eyes. If you have it set to high it will tank your fps.

Thats only a quick overview over my first go to settings. There are much more little tweaks but i can`t even remember them.
Do not wonder why i describe it like above but i am not using the Content Manager so i have to fiddle around within the ini.files

Quick random look preview

Hi,

Thanks for tips, but where do you modify settings like : EXTRA_SHARPEN_PASS=0 or FFXCAS_PASS=1 ?

Thanks

Cool stuff, hopefully the rarer stuff will makes its way to AC - like the Alpine A110-50, Citroën Survolt, Icona Vulcano, Marussia B2, Mazzanti Evantra, Peugeot EX1, Renault Twin'Run, Volkswagen Golf Design Vision GTI... Because who needs yet another Dodge Charger or Mégane RS in AC lol.

Hi,

Thanks for tips, but where do you modify settings like : EXTRA_SHARPEN_PASS=0 or FFXCAS_PASS=1 ?

Thanks

Like i described - under ExtraFX - you enable TAA but disable Extra_Sharpen, than under Graphic Adjustments you enable FidelityFX CAS.....

You can do it directly in your assetto folder by editing the corresponding ini`s : (SAVE YOUR INI`s FIRST!)

X:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\extension\config <--- the CSP ini´s are here. Just open with a editor

You`ll need to edit the ini`s like i decribed. It´s just few minutes of work.
1 - means ON
0 - means OFF

or like the decription says for example within the Smart Mirror.ini you find [REAL MIRROR] for example RENDER_PER_FRAME=1 and 1 means here - , update single reflection per frame is 1. Default is 0 means - update everything is 0 (that tanks fps)
Every action is described, so with careful reading it´s not a miracle.

OR you do all the stuff with the Content Manager. It´s everything there but is built a little different

PS: If someone is interested but unsure i can just upload my files so you can copy some settings. Of course not copy&paste the whole ini´s because it´s always another version of CSP we use.

I found this few days ago. The cars already existed about 2y ago, but now they got good improvements and so far my first tests shows - they are now BOPed to race together. Nothing special but imo. very solid and driveable

Portland International Raceway (Unfinished)

rj_portland_int

This is a standalone version of the excellent Portland International Raceway done by 13X made to look the way I prefer. I take no credit for the track other than the changes I made. It's in an unfinished state at the moment, but i'm releasing it as is for now because I have to get surgery in a few days and don't know when I will be able to finish it. That means you will have to put up with a lot of imperfections. Everything is probably too dark, the grass and tree texture brightness is a bit mismatched and I never got a chance to vary the tree colors the way I had hoped too. So everything sort of looks the same. I'd also suggest you enable the CSP 'Trees receiving per-vertex shadows' option or the trees may lack shadow depth.

Credits:
Original Track: 13X
Cable fix: @Masscot
Original config I used as a base: Blamer (I think)

Changes I made:

-- Added animated flags, time of day and lap number to the display boards.
-- Completely changed the tree and grass textures. The trees were tough because the track uses X trees which always creates a sort of rorschach test look. I tried to hide as many as I could with Y tree variants, but you may still see some odd looking trees in a few spots.
-- Removed the blue\purple tint from the road and groove surfaces.
-- Altered the track lights to also come on when it rains.
-- Added seasonal trees via a track skin if you like that sort of thing.

Maybe someone can take what i've done and make it better while i'm out of the loop for awhile. The ai needs some serious work because the sidelines are horrible. For now, it is what it is and you may or may not like it.

Links been updated with a new version. It's best to delete the old track folder first. This will be the last update for awhile.

Changes:

-- New ext_config with changed night lighting from @CrisT86
-- New replay cams from @CrisT86 , @DaBaeda and one from me.
-- New vao patches from @CrisT86. I included the originals if for some reason you don't like the new ones.
-- Split the flagmen meshes apart and repositioned them so that they don't float anymore.
-- Reduced the saturation level on the summer trees and changed one tree texture to try and get more variety.
-- Added two track skin options for the two jumbotrons. One will make the jumbotrons blank instead of the fake picture they have by default. The other will enable live track cams.
-- Included the original ext_config in a secondary folder in case you don't like the new night lighting. The new night lighting is darker and some people may prefer the brighter look. If you do switch to the lighter version, make sure to also copy the LiveJumbotrons skin from the same folder because it is needed. @CrisT86 new lighting made the jumbotron displays darker at night for some reason and I could never figure out why. So I had to make separate skins for the different config versions.

If anyone is willing, both layouts are in serious need of updated ai. They struggle with the last chicane. I tried to alleviate the problem a little with a hints file, but the best route would be a whole new ai set. I don't have the time right now to try and record a new set.

Somehow I've managed to delete the car mirrors config app from the right-side menu and I don't see it in the apps folder either.

That new version of Salzburgring looks really good! The vegetation look much more natural now.

Didi you already try Pure 0.271 and its developer option in wetaherFX?
You can switch gamma and lcs with the spacebar and both shader sets should look nearly the same...

Oh i disagree, these are very special. :) They offer probably top 3 most fun bumper to bumper racing available in AC (especially the Chevrette, and especially not the Fiat :) ). The weight transfer on direction change is executed so well, you will ask yorself why don't all the vintage cars in AC have this.

VRC version (CSP, didn't try the vanilla yet) has the worst headlights though... insufficient for night driving.
Was dealing with the same issue.
If you change following items in ext_config.ini, it will be better:

[LIGHT_HEADLIGHT_0]
COLOR=1, 1, 0.9, 30
POSITION=0, 0.35, 2
DIRECTION=0.0,-0.12,1
DIFFUSE_CONCENTRATION=0.8
EXTERIOR_ONLY=0
FADE_AT=400
FADE_FAKE_SHADOW=0
FADE_SMOOTH=60
INTERIOR_ONLY=0
MIRROR=0.85
MIRROR_DIRECTION=0
RANGE=300
RANGE_GRADIENT_OFFSET=0
SPOT=40

Sounds good I have to drive them more finally. Tested so far in terms of BOP

Hello everybody !

Finally !

The Ferrari 499P was release !

You can grab the car here for free !

Have fun on track !
Great job with this car, but the mapping scale of the external carbon fibre weave looks unnaturally big to me, and the tones seems a little too light.
The scale can't easily be adjusted in CM due to the encryption, so to tighten the weave and darken it a little, remove the .txt extensions from these two files and drop them into a skin folder .

It takes it from this:
1714991017349.jpeg

...to this:
1714991048560.jpeg

edit: @TabsGaming42 can you please fix the floating digits on the steering wheel LCD? A lot of them are 4mm off the face of the display for some reason, and it looks really weird in VR.
I edited the config but your encryption won't allow it, and even putting the adjusted digital_instruments.ini in a data_override folder doesn't work.

Thanks.

I do, yes.

On Yezhrod's 499p there is only an on/off choice for headlights, no low/high beams available.

Hi Peter,

Just to let you know, the problem seem indeed to be with cars using high beams. Tried mutiple cars last night and when I can turn off high beams it is indeed much better.

Is this "behaviour" between fog and high beams light therefore intended? I'm not judging if it's realistic or not (I don't drive in real life lol) but it makes driving with certain cars in the fog really disturbing.

It actually is really disturbing if there is near and thick fog and you have high beams on. You see much less then and you get crazy.
Therefore cars have fog lights, so the lit up just the ground.

The next step would be to take the real color from the headligths, but this is/was not ready in CSP yet. I could also add a slider in the shaders settings.

I can assure you it's a very bad idea to run high beams in foggy conditions IRL.
That's where fog lights come in...
Back in time we even used these fog covers to prevent the headlights to illuminate the fog higher above the road. That helped a lot...
Disregard the mesh (that was against impact from stones)...
