I just posted a link to this on our ACC forum, but also worth posting here because it's just a lot of fun to watch. Misha is a real life Nordschleife driving specialist YouTuber, reviewing ACC's new Nurburgring track from the point of view of a guy who will soon race a BMW M3 GT4 in this year's Nurburgring 24h.

His video is mostly complementing ACC's attention to detail with things like bumps, tarmac resurfacing/variations/differences, kerb placement, trackside objects (signs, campsites, Marshal's posts and toilets). Very funny to see just how extremely nerdy ACC was in their rendition.

Anyway, enjoy. This is what the PC sim racing world is concerned about, and why Forza is never intended to compete with them directly.

THIS is what i expect and what a laserscan is gathering. ALL of that. So i have no understanding for when laserscan details get deleted or altered...

If you do it, do it once and do it right!

In the back of my mind I always think FM23 is in the background trying to be a console version of Iracing. Not really a competitor but more so taking inspiration and following its footsteps. If it is it has a long way but theres a foundation for it as the game stands.

There is a bloom effect that FM23 does to the sky when sitting in shadows. I wish there was some way to turn this off or lenthen its start so it doesn't happen as quiclky. When running partly cloudy skies, FM23 looks pretty darn good, especially in early morning or late afternoon times. But when you enter a shadow, the bloom effect happens and ruins the moment for me. Is there some way I can stop this on my end?

Sorry... First world problem, I know.

I think people prefer the shorter summary videos to lengthy interviews.
I prefer the longer videos personally, where the devs can go deeper into details and answer more complex questions. But perhaps I'm just part of a very nerdy minority 😂

I've had a thought that they maybe switched from the Forza Monthly-shows to the short update videos because of all the personal attacks against the devs from the toxic part of the community.

But idk. Perhaps they just find this to be a more time efficient way to do things. I'm a bit jealous of the "Let's go"-streams that Horizon gets though. I find them quite wholesome and nice to watch.

In stock trim maybe so, but with the upgraded turbos taking it up to 1371hp at nearly 103PSI of boost, some Turbo lag is to be expected. :P
This was in stock trim. Right as I finished up the Combustion Tour last night it popped up on car pass so I decided to give it a go.

I have a Free-Play question: I am remaking Multi-Class races from FM4 (E/A, D/S, etc), but there are some times where racing cars mix with road cars. Is there a way to set the opponents to use only road cars?

After having completed the Open Class and Combustion tours, I'm starving for the next update.

Bring on the last three Car Pass cars, of which, one of them is likely the McMurtry Spierling.

Oh, and I also can't wait for the next track. Hopefully it's Sebring so we get new race cars.

Not without some real fine details being adjusted such as weight range, year range, etc... theres probably a simple way but it would take some time to really figure out and hone in on it without needing more than 4 buckets.

I do hope Sebring is next although somebody mentioned that Brands Hatch was seen in this recent updates file, possibly coming next or soonish. We desperately need more modern prototypes, and classic racers from the 60s-70s.

Agreed, this game in particular needs more Le Mans Hypercars and LMDh's as the Cadillac V-Series.R feels somewhat lonely, except there are three livery variations of it. Surprisingly they're popular in the Forza forums' car voting suggestions, and I'll list down the top five:

  1. Ferrari 499P
  2. Peugeot 9X8
  3. Porsche 963
  4. Lamborghini SC63
  5. BMW M Hybrid V8

Might be something to that.

Also, would I sound completely off my rocker if I said a lot of the game design (like the pit stop menu, couple of other little things as well) remind me a lot of Ride 4 and 5?

Any game I've used it in seems to do the same, can't be coincidence.
From what I remember in other games I use it in, in 1st gear the car still moves when you hit the gas pedal then the turbo kicks in. Last night the car barely moved when the lights went out so when the turbo kicked in I spun out. I eventually got used to it but it just seemed more sluggish than anything I've driven before.

i think its likely to come as a car pack after the car pass is done. Since Forza Proto-H contains some other cars already, people without the DLC will still be able to participate in that division.

I do wish that the Trans AM, V8 Supercars and Gt4 cars get spun off into their own categories.

I mean, won't they just be added to the game for free as the game has a live service model?

A lot of the race cars from that era in Forza have some serious issues with low speed grip. Almost like they use an overly aggresive torque map or something.

Just ran the Super Saloon race at Hockenheim (yes I know, I'm late to the party) and the AI was easily the stupidist I'm encountered so far.

Not only was the first half of the opening lap a veritable festival of contact, but the AI all pitted at the end of the first lap to swap to wets, despite the game automatically switching me to wets at the very start.

A shame, because apart from first lap AI being generally a bit of a mess, later laps have so far given me some enjoyable racing.

Dave Chappelle Wow GIF

Those are some diabolical mental gymnastics on display. It's unfortunate how many people with a lack of critical thinking skills will sadly fall for it.

I just don't see this game having all the newer Hypercars and LMDh's, I'd think Le Mans Ultimate might prevent that from happening. I would love to be wrong. Has it ever had the full season grid of current prototypes?
You want modern, but my dream is #43 Plymouth Superbird 1970
Adding a Ford Torino Talladega with that would make the aero wars mostly complete. Just slap Dodge and Mercury on two more and there you have it.

I've had some great races with the AI here. And other times they do a very good job of replicating your average public online lobby.

I believe they still have the old drivatar system going at least partially although it never was perfect and still isn't.

I see that seems to be the general consensus of whats coming. I also remember seeing a dev or maybe a forum moderator trying to tell people not to bank on the files meaning much of anything.

For me, unless it's a mirrored version of Eaglerock, I am open to just about any track from FM7. If Turn 10 decides to show a track from a much older Forza, or an all new track, I am with that too.

Since I almost have the career mode done, I've been running Free Play races lately using GT cars running endurance races, the AI has been a little bit of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, the beginning of races are usually quite a mess, with a over aggressive AI diving into the first turn, once getting separated, there usually pretty good on there own, but the occasion one just almost completely stops into a turn for no good reason. I been running 50 lap races with multiple required pits stop, just to mix it up.

Some of the best races I've had recently were the ones where I used multiple pit stops on races. At times it really requires you to use some strategy otherwise you can lose a lot of position. I did a modern trans-am race, 20 laps on Homestead and for the first half I was battling for 3rd place but then not using proper pit strategy with pits I ended up coming in hard fought 8th place. One of the better times the AI has given me a good run. We really need some tire and fuel wear multipliers as well as being able to pick at least 3 different weather slots per race to change up track surface behavior.

As mentioned, Le Mans Ultimate has launched simulating the official LMS / FIA WEC content. It is likely hard for Forza to license that content, although apparently Cadillac was OK with a separate license to Forza for their car.

I guess it all depends how the individual manufacturers decided to license their LMS cars...

And I believe AMS2 just got a license for IMSA..I wonder if that will affect the kind of race cars we will get in this game for the foreseeable. IMSA is a huge deal with many dozens of relevant cars over its history.

Forza I remember really being the first game to capture the look and feel of Sebring, back in 2007 when I was down there Forza 2 was heavily being promoted, with IMSA tracks tracks showing up in so many games, would be hard to imagine Sebring not in Forza. Looking forward to have complete 24 dynamic time cycle & weather.
